Arguably one of the best engines BMW has ever produced. The B58 is very capable without touching the internals: 800 BHP from a stock engine has been seen with a hybrid turbo, uprated fuel pump and methanol.
There are two versions to know. The original B58 runs from 2016 to 2019, and the updated B58TU from 2019 already has the bigger TU fuel pump.

Questions and myths
What does the upgraded fuel pump do?
It brings big gains in midrange power and a noticeable peak power increase. The original B58 can take the later TU pump; the B58TU already has it.
How far can a B58 go?
Beyond the packages listed here, an uprated fuel pump and a hybrid turbo with methanol or ethanol comfortably pass 700 BHP. Talk to us about a build at this level.
