Remote tuning

The same VT calibrations, flashed from home and refined from your datalogs. Remote tuning is map only, so the parts for your package need to be fitted already.

From order to flash

How remote tuning works

  1. 01

    Build your package

Choose your car, platform and package above, then check out. Add a licence if you don't have one.

  2. 02

    Send us your details

You give us your registration and VIN when you order. Then email us your software version and a datalog from your flashing app. We'll tell you exactly what to record.

  3. 03

    We build your map

Your VT calibration is written for your car and parts, then sent to your MHD, bootmod3 or 1769 account.

  4. 04

    Flash and refine

Flash it from your phone or laptop, send us a fresh datalog, and we fine-tune until it's right.

Flashing platforms

MHD, bootmod3 or 1769

Already licensed? Use what you have. If not, we can supply the licence for your car when you order. Prices include VAT.

Our recommendation

MHD

Adds custom code on top of BMW's software: switchable maps, flex fuel, anti-lag and port injection control. Flash and datalog from your phone.

  • Licence £442, or £589 for the S63 V8
  • Runs VT800 flex fuel
Fully supported

bootmod3

Flash, datalog and switch maps from the bootmod3 app. If you're already on bootmod3, we tune straight onto it.

  • Licence from £465, or £779 for the S63 V8
  • Runs VT800 flex fuel
For 1769 unlocked cars

1769

For cars with a 1769 unlocked ECU. It takes the best backup available: a full ECU backup including the SVT and FSC.

  • Engine licence £120
  • Gearbox licence £120, for our gearbox map

Your questions answered

Still not sure? Ask the tuner.

Is a remote tune the same as an in-house tune?

It's the same VT calibration and the same price. The difference is that we refine it from your datalogs instead of on our dyno, and you flash it yourself.

What do I need before I start?
  • A licence for MHD, bootmod3 or 1769 on your car, or buy one from us when you order
  • A compatible OBD adapter or cable for your platform
  • The parts your package needs, already fitted
  • An unlocked ECU if your car was built from around June 2020
My car was built after June 2020. Can I tune remotely?

Yes, once the ECU is unlocked. Unlocks are free but done in-house only, so book a workshop visit for the unlock first, then tune remotely from home whenever you like.

Can you supply and fit parts for a remote tune?

Remote tuning is map only. If you need parts supplied and fitted, use Build tuning package for in-house tuning, or buy parts from the shop and fit them before your remote tune.

Do I need your gearbox map?

We recommend it with every VT package: it raises the torque limiters, increases clutch pressure and optimises shift speed and logic to match your engine's new power. If you already run XHP or another gearbox map, choose "Already mapped". On 1769, our gearbox map needs the 1769 gearbox licence.

Can I go back to standard?

Yes. MHD and bootmod3 keep a copy of your original software, so you can flash back to standard at any time. 1769 takes the most complete backup of all: a full ECU backup including the SVT and FSC, so everything can be put back exactly as BMW supplied it.
